Heywood Hodder Davis and his family donated Christopher Hawkins’ memoir to the Museum of the American Revolution in April 2018. The original, hand-written manuscript was found 20 years ago in the linen closet of Margaret Hodder Davis--Heywood (Woody) Davis’ mother--in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1834, Christopher Hawkins wrote of his amazing adventures and escapes from the British as a teenager during the Revolutionary War.
